Abstract. The synthesis of some new reactive dyes (9a-j) derived from diazotization of 3-[4-(4-aminobenzyl)phenyl]-2-[2-(4- fluorophenyl)vinyl]-quinazoline-4(3H)-one (5) and coupled with various 4-chloro-2-nitro anilino cyanurated coupling components (8a-j). Their dyeing performance as reactive dyes has been assessed on silk, wool and cotton fibres. These dyes were characterized by IR spectra, 1H NMR spectra, visible absorption spectroscopy and elemental analysis. The dyed fibre showed fair to very good light fastness and very good to excellent fastness to washing and rubbing. The dyebath exhaustion and fixation on different fibres were found to be very good.
