Abstract:
Anticonvulsant activity of thus synthesized 4-(1, 3-dioxoisoindolin-2-yl)-N-phenylbutanamide
derivatives is done using Maximal Electroshock Seizures (MES)
method. Among them compound V and VI had shown significant
anticonvulsant activity with minimal neurotoxic effects. Further
chemical studies revealed that substitutions of strong electron
withdrawing group at 4-position increases overall activity of
the present 4-(1, 3-dioxoisoindolin-2-yl)-N-phenylbutanamide
derivatives.
